So i missed a post last week, so i'll send this out a little early, here's a rather underused idea from a newer series.
So here's the thing, this type of vampire apocalypse would be much harder than any kind of zombie apocalypse, well besides the ones presented by video games like Dying Light. In this series, it starts out in New York City, cliche, something happening to New York. But instead of the contagion being recognized after a plane shows up full of dead bodies, minus the five survivors, the CDC ignores the outbreak, mainly because of a dying business man who's willing to do anything to live longer, including starting a vampire apocalypse. These vampires start out zombie-like.
This is the best picture I could find of a regular vampire. Anyways, these guy start out relatively stupid, attracted to humans but with a six foot "stinger" that shoots out of their throats, making them lethal. Silver and UV rays burn them, and die when beheaded. But within a month, these creatures become crafty, much smarter than the average zombie, and lethal enough to completely end humanity. Now there are two other types i know of, the Masters, who are immune to vampiric weaknesses, but can still be beheaded, and these masters' lieutenants who possess their memories and their conscious, but their not really human anymore. This apocalypse would be much more difficult than any zombie apocalypse (including the ones in most video games) Now for the worst vampire apocalypse (as in the hardest to beat) that could ever come about besides the original "Dracula" by Bram Stoker.
I'm talking about the guy to the left. Yes, Twilight. When the vampires that exist only sparkle in the sun, and have a hard time preventing themselves from killing every human they bite, AND have proper planning. You're doomed unless other vampires or werewolves stop them. The apocalypse would grow slowly, but it would so many people. At least it would most likely destroy itself before it destroys the world. Unless they have the brain of a Strain vampire, than god help you.
